  • Walls and ceilings in emulsion, from mist coat on new plaster to final coats

  • Stairs, banisters and spindles

  • Colour advice and sample patches before you commit
  • End-of-tenancy and landlord redecoration
  • Small commercial spaces, offices and shops

Preparation first, paint second

Most of the difference between an average paint job and a good one happens before the lid comes off the tin. We fill and sand cracks, key glossy surfaces, sort out flaking areas and seal stains so they do not bleed through. Floors, furniture and fittings are covered and masked, and we keep the working area tidy at the end of every day.

We work with professional tools from Festool, Mirka, Purdy and Axus, including dust-extracted sanding, and we use trade paints from brands such as Dulux, Johnstone’s and Farrow & Ball. If you already have a colour or brand in mind, we are happy to work with it.

Period homes, new builds and everything in between

Cheltenham has a real mix of houses: Regency and Victorian townhouses, 1930s semis, converted barns and new apartments. Each needs a slightly different approach. Old lime plaster and exposed beams need patience and the right materials, while fresh plaster in a new build needs a proper mist coat before any colour goes on.

Our recent interior work includes a stone barn conversion with new plaster throughout, beamed cottage bedrooms painted in deep blue, and a complete apartment with wallpapered feature walls. You can see the photos in our projects section.

How a typical job runs

Send us a few photos on WhatsApp or give us a call. We arrange a visit, look at the condition of the walls and woodwork, and give you a clear written quote. Once you are happy, we agree a start date, protect the rooms, prepare, paint and finish with a walk-round together so nothing is missed.

FAQ

Interior painting & decorating: common questions

How much does interior decorating cost in Cheltenham?

It depends on the size of the rooms, the condition of the surfaces and how much woodwork is involved. We visit, measure and give you a written, itemised quote free of charge, so you know the price before any work starts.

Do I need to move furniture before you arrive?

It helps if small items and ornaments are cleared. We can move and cover larger furniture ourselves and put it back when the room is finished.

Can you paint new plaster?

Yes. New plaster needs to dry fully and then receive a diluted mist coat so the paint bonds properly. We will check the plaster and advise on timing.

Do you supply the paint?

We can supply trade-quality paint, or use a brand and colour you have chosen. We will recommend the right finish for each area, for example a washable finish for hallways and kitchens.

How long does it take to decorate a room?

A typical bedroom is often done in one to three days depending on preparation, ceilings and woodwork. We give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.
